I sat still for the plate, the way they did a hundred and seventy years ago .. long enough to let the image find me.
On my legs, old armour. In one hand, a light that cuts, from a future that hasn't arrived. Against my chest, a phone .. held like something holy.
Three ages on one body. What once protected me, what I imagine will, and what watches me now.
The same chemistry once feared for stealing the soul .. here it keeps mine, drips and all.
I hold the small bright thing to my heart. It answers when I ask, and it watches while I rest.
